World Economic Forum Davos

Welcome to BT's Davos digital portal, your one stop shop for the latest highlights from the Annual Meeting

As many of the world’s most powerful business people, politicians and thinkers gathered in Davos last week to define ways forward for global business we are bringing the insights straight to you.

The overall theme for this Annual Meeting is Shared Norms for the New Reality, reflecting the foremost concern of many leaders today – living in a world that is becoming increasingly complex and interconnected and, at the same time, experiencing an erosion of common values and principles.

This years's theme was founded on four interconnected pillars:

1. Responding to the New Reality

2. The Economic Outlook and Defining Policies for Inclusive Growth

3. Supporting the G20 Agenda

4. Building a Global Risk Response Mechanism

Ian Livingston (CEO, BT Group)  joined  Jeff Kelly (CEO, BT Global Services) and Sally Davis (CEO, BT Wholesale) in blogging daily from Davos.  They expanded on the issues of the day offering their viewpoint on the debates that emerged.

Others executives in attendance were: Sir Michael Rake, Chairman, BT Group and Clive Selley, CEO, Innovate & Design/CEO, BT Group

Making change happen
Ian Livingston, Chief Executive Officer, BT, strongly supports ‘making change happen’.  Our involvement in Forum-led initiatives, on topics such as the future of the internet, cloud computing and even workplace wellness, are examples of ways in which we are currently contributing expertise.
We are proud to be on the selection committee for Technology Pioneers and are an active member of the Forum’s IT and Telecoms Industry community.
This year we are helping the Forum and its member organisations understand how IT and communications technologies can enable economic recovery and growth.
